We are kicking off our very first CoolVines Wine Academy at our Newark location with one of the most classic and famous wine regions in the world: Bordeaux! A basic understanding of this French region is essential for anyone looking to expand their appreciation of wine. It has functioned as the epicenter of winemaking knowledge, innovation and commerce for centuries. It has a fascinating history involving wars, ostentatious nouveau riche chateau owners, and a unique classification system set up by Napoleon III. And, most importantly, the wines are absolutely fantastic. CoolVines Newark Wine Manager David-Bendor-Bloch will provide context for why Bordeaux remains such an important wine region, and will pour wines from historic estates in Graves, Saint-Estephe, Pomerol, Sauternes and more.
