This vintage's blend consists of 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from two different blocks of the Two Blondes vineyard. This wine was fermented and aged in 20% new French Oak barrels and 80% neutral French oak barrels. This Cabernet is a classic example of “restraint” in a varietal that has become known more for power and ripeness. 2017 was a great vintage that allowed for full phenolic ripeness due to a cool second half of September which allowed for extended hangtime with minimal sugar accumulation. All of the wines from this vintage show a lot of freshness and balance.

This wine bucks the trend toward heavy, overbearing Cabernet Sauvignon that too often shuts down on the palate. Instead, this wine has texture and fruit bound by tannin and acid to perform in glass and on the palate. It is seductive in its freshness and fruit definition.
